Cross Country
The Lake Houston Conquerors Cross Country program is a great option for homeschool athletes who enjoy running and want to compete in organized meets. LHC helps connect runners with cross country events hosted by private schools and other homeschool groups.
Ages
Open to boys and girls in middle school and high school. Younger athletes may participate with coach approval.
When
The season begins in early August and runs through October.
Where
Meets are held at various Houston area parks and schools.
Practices are:
Mondays at TBA
Tuesdays at Roman Forrest Park
Thursdays at Creekwood Middle School
Saturdays at Lake Houston Wilderness Park
Practices
Practices are optional but a lot of fun.
We practice Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Meets
Cross Country meets are typically on Saturday mornings. The races are 1-2 miles for middle schoolers and 2-3 miles for high schoolers.
The coach sends sign-up links for upcoming events via email and text.
Jerseys
Uniform shirt will be available for purchase or a LHC track uniform can be used.
Fall 2026
Athletes are expected to pickone of two options:
$80 includes $40 registration and two races.
$200 includes $40 registration and eight races.
Additional meets can be added at a later date.
The cross country coach will email or text upcoming meets sign-ups. Additional meet entries cost $20.
